Internationally rooted. Artistically unified.
Formed in North Texas and comprising members from three different nations, Trio Resonance is a classical guitar ensemble made up of Noé Garcia Jacinto, Zhi Li, and Héctor Alfonso Torres González. After forming in 2016, the group spent several years performing and arranging works together before recording their debut album — an artistic culmination of shared experiences and cultural dialogue.
Titled Sound & Motion, the album reflects the trio’s broad influences and distinctive sound. The programme moves gracefully from the melodic beauty of Chinese traditional tunes to the driving rhythms of Latin American tango. Also featured is The Art of Sound and Motion — a work by New Zealand composer Bruce Paine, inspired by the kinetic sculptures at the Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth. This striking piece makes its debut recording here, arranged by the composer himself for three guitars.
“Sound and Motion represents our personal relationship between music, movement and resonance.” — Trio Resonance
