The knackered guitar. (Not to be confused with the naked guitar!) This once loved steel string "Hawaiian" guitar has a warped top making it impossible to play! It was purchased from the fondly remembered but now long gone Harmony House of Auckland's Karangahape (also known as 'K') Road. The guitar still has the original Harmony House sticker on the front but sadly the label inside gives no clues as to its origins or lineage. The naked guitarist. (Yes, butt naked, and fortunately cunningly shielded by cast-iron!) Or perhaps a more appropriate caption for this photo is 'The parboiled guitarist'? Leaning Garage vs New Zealand native Pohutukawa tree. Who will win this battle of survival? The tree or the garage? A grove of pine trees named the "Seven Sisters" stand proud in Mt Albert, Auckland city central. They also stand in the grounds of historic Ferndale house. This has been one of Bruce Paine's favourite concert venues. What could be mistaken for a UFO above St Matthews in the City is actually Auckland's Sky Tower looming above the century old landmark.
