Bruce Paine's concert on the 5th December 2009 marked the beginning of his latest and most ambitious project yet. Bruce is writing music for a DVD to be made about the beautiful historic place of Alberton in Mount Albert, Auckland New Zealand. He is also planning video shoots in order to capture footage to complement the music and of relevance to the historic place.
The DVD will blend performance footage with current and past images of Alberton to create a unique audio visual experience. Footage from Bruce's concert is intended to act as the “glue” to bind other DVD footage together.
Further down the track volunteer “actors” from the local community may be needed to help add interest to different scenes to be video taped at Alberton. The first official “shoot” following the concert will take place during a children’s birthday party where the guests will enact games in period costumes.
Further video footage will be captured early in 2010 with the view to having the DVD completed and ready for sale by September/October 2010.
Thanks go to the Kerr-Taylor Foundation for their generous grant towards the costs of production. Also to Eric and Jill Muncaster for their donation.
Further funds are needed in order to cover production costs and all donations in the form of concert support or by other means are welcomed.
Rendell McIntosh, the staff and volunteers of Alberton are also acknowledged for their enthusiastic help in making this concert and the DVD possible.
